Day 1 : Chiang Mai ( D )

On arrival transfer to the hotel in the city centre of the northern capital. Day at leisure. Time to explore Chiang Mai by yourself and for some shopping as well ,cycling in the Chiang Mai city,Dinner at the local restaurant Overnight.

Day 2 : Chiang Mai - Luang Brabang ( B , L )

Late morning transfer to the airport. Take a one hour flight to the former royal Laotian town of Luang Prabang. Visa upon arrival at the airport (US$ 30.-). Transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a boat trip  on the Mekong and cycling to visit the holy Thum Ting caves at the junction of the Mekong and Ou River, that are enshrining numerous Buddha images. On the way back stop at a riverside village, which is famous for rice wine distillation. Overnight.

Day 3 : Luang Brabang ( B , L )

Drive ang cycling  to picturesque Kuangsy waterfall and see some remote villages, which also includes a Hmong hill tribe village. In the afternoon take a tour through the former royal town. See the former King's palace (now the National Museum) and some of the very beautiful ancient temples of Luang Prabang, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. Overnight

Day 4 : Luang Brabang - Vang Vieng ( B , L )
In the morning start for an approx. 5 hour drive and cycling 2 hours through some impressive mountain wilderness, along many remote hill tribe villages (most of them Hmong). Arrive in Vangvieng, a small town surrounded by picturesque landscapes. Stay at a resort on the banks of the Song River.
Option: Instead of travelling to Vangvieng it is also possible driving through the mountain wilderness to Phonsawan. Here overnight. The next morning visit famous Plain of Jars and fly to Vientiane in the afternoon.

Day 5 : Vang Vieng – Vientiane ( B , L )

Enjoy the nice surroundings with many limestone cliffs and caves. Watch the daily life along the river. Later drive and cycling for approx. three hours to Vientiane and take a sightseeing tour in the Laotian capital, which includes all major sights, such as That Luang stupa, Pratu Xai and the central market. Overnight.

Day 6 : Vientiane Departure ( B )
Transfer to the airport
