Day 1: Arrival Hanoi
Arrive at Noi Bai airport, guide and car pick up and transfer to the hotel for check in. Free for relaxing. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B)
Today we enjoy a full day city tour of this charming capital city including the mausoleum of the nation's founder Ho Chi Minh (close on Monday & Friday), the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the impressive Ethnologic Museum, the beautiful West Lake, the Tran Vu Pagoda, the peaceful lake of the Restored Sword.
Late afternoon we take a cyclo tour for a short excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. In the evening, we enjoy a fantastic traditional water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi - Ha Long (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will take a journey by road to Ha Long Bay (165 km), the most wonderful scenic sight of Vietnam, the World Natural Heritage Site with over 3000 limestone islands and islets rising fantastically from the clear and emerald water. Upon arrival, board a traditional wooden hotel-junk. Lunch on board. Enjoy excellent fresh seafood.
After lunch, take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay dotted with Halong Ginger golden sails, go swimming on a quite beach or sunbathing on the sundeck. Later afternoon, visit an interesting fishing village with opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. At sunset time, enjoy cocktails while watching sunset and later unwind at Ginger restaurant. Overnight on board
Day 4: Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An (B)
Greet the day with a morning Tai Chi exercise with an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. After breakfast, visit beautiful limestone grotto then back to the boat for a final glimpse of the Halong Bay while cruising back to the dock, transfer to Hanoi Airport for a short flight to Danang (VN 319 HAN 18:45 DAD 20:00). Upon arrival, meet and transfer to Hoi An, once known as Faifo. Hoi An was one of the orient's major trading ports in the 16th and 17th centuries. After the Thu Bon River linking Hoi An to the sea silted up ocean going ships were no longer able to sail into town and trade moved 30km up the coast to Tourane, known nowadays as Danang. Despite the passing of 200 years and the ravages of the weather and war, the centre of Hoi An remains much the same as it was in its heyday. A walking tour is the best way to see the wooden-fronted houses that once belonged to the town's prosperous merchants, the Japanese-covered Bridge and the wonderful market. Hoi An is one of the best places in Vietnam to shop for souvenirs at bargain prices including silk, handicrafts, antiques and paintings. Five kilometres from the centre of town is CuaDaiBeach, popular with both locals and visitors alike for its sandy beach, warm sea and seafood stalls. Overnight in Hoi An
Day 5: Hoi An - My Son (B)
Transfer from Hoi An to My Son Holy land, once the spiritual capital of Champa Kingdom that dominated South East Asia for nearly a thousand years and occupied most of the central parts of Vietnam from 2nd century to 16th century with very rich in history and culture. Contemplate its remarkable red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 7th and 13th centuries.
Drive back to Hoi An, free to visit the former merchants' homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien pagoda and the colourful riverside market. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Whole day free to cycle through rice paddies to the nearby beach, shop for souvenirs among the antique shops and art galleries or just sit at sidewalk cafes and soak up the atmosphere of this quaint town, relax on the white sandy beach of South China Sea or do day trip to visit Hue. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoi An - Da Nang - Saigon (B)
Morning transfer to Danang for the flight to Saigon (VN 323 DAD 12:30 SGN 13:40), the most exciting city of Vietnam, a mecca of commerce, also a city with a chequered history and a rich culture, its pagodas, museums, public buildings, parks and boulevards make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Vietnam. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel, check-in free time at leisure. Overnight in Saigon
Day 8: Saigon - Mekong Delta & My Tho - Saigon (B)
Drive to My Tho (65km). On arrival we take a private boat trip along the small canals of Mekong River seeing the daily life of the Mekong River people in both sides of the river. Then take a short tour by “xe loi” (motorized rickshaw) on the rural lane to the bank of Mekong River visiting a rice farm, coconut candy factory and honey bee farm. Continue our journey by sampan through the canals and mangrove forests to reach an island. Stroll on a fruit garden, taste diverse types of seasonal fruits, tea mixed with bee’s honey and enjoy a special folk show of traditional Mekong Delta music.
Afternoon back to Ho Chi Minh, stop en route visiting the beautiful Vinh Trang pagoda, the most famous pagoda in the south of Vietnam whose architecture is a mixture of Vietnamese, Kh’mer and Chinese. Overnight in Saigon
Day 9: Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels - Saigon (B)
Excursion to Tay Ninh, the head quarter of Cao Dai sect founded in 1923. Visit the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the fantastic Midday Mass ceremony when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, Christianism and Islamism. Continue to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese guerillas. The tunnels, virtually beneath the US bases for surprise attacks, contained hospitals, accommodation, schools and were used as a military base for Vietnam Communist Army in the US-Vietnam war. Return to Ho Chi Minh city. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap (B)
This morning, we transfer you to the airport for the flight VN 9880 SGN 08:35 REP 09:55 to Siem Reap and spend the afternoon visiting the amazing and inspiring temples of Angkor, climbing to the top of one of the imposing remains for a truly memorable sunset.
Day 11: Siem Reap (Angkor Temples) (B)
Spend full day exploring Angkor temples. Each displays individual and unique architecture. Witness the splendor of these magnificent creations around every corner.
Day 12: Siem Reap - Luang Prabang (B)
Free until we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Luong Prabang. Pick you upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight in Luong Prabang.
Day 13 : Luang Prabang (B, L)
Visit museums, markets and a weaving village, then enjoy a boat cruise on the Mekong River to the holy caves of Pak Ou.
Day 14: Luang Prabang - Hanoi
Free at leisure until we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Hanoi VN 866 LPQ 16:45 HAN 17:45. Pick up and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 15: Hanoi Departure (B)
Free at leisure until we transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
