Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights - 14 Days from Hanoi visited: Hanoi - Halong - Hue - Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh - Mekong - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Arriving in Hanoi, our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Evening at leisure.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Today's city tour includes Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first university, Fine Art Museum, Quan Thanh Temple.
Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive to Ha Long Bay for the overnight cruise on a deluxe junk. Begin with a seafood lunch then explore some limestone caves. In the afternoon enjoy a swim or relax in the sun on the top deck or try your hand at some kayaking. After dinner there is an option for night fishing from the boat
Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue (B)
Greet the day with a morning Tai Chi exercise with an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. After breakfast, visit beautiful limestone grotto then back to the boat for a final glimpse of the Halong Bay while cruising back to the dock, transfer to Hanoi Airport for a short flight to Hue with Vietnam airlines VN 247 HAN 17:45 HUI 18:55. Pick up and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Hue.
Day 5: Hue - Hoi An (B)
This morning's tour starts with a boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda. Afterwards drive to Hoi An via Danang. The scenic route climbs over the Pass of Ocean Clouds before dropping down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co. On arrival in Hoi An in late afternoon, transfer to hotel.
Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Transfer from Hoi An to My Son Holy land, once the spiritual capital of Champa Kingdom that dominated South East Asia for nearly a thousand years and occupied most of the central parts of Vietnam from 2nd century to 16th century with very rich in history and culture. Contemplate its remarkable red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 7th and 13th centuries.
Drive back to Hoi An, free to visit the former merchants' homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien pagoda and the colourful riverside market. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Drive to Danang and transfer to the airport for the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City VN 321 DAD 08:05 SGN 09:15, then transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour includes The Reunification Palace (former Presidential Palace), Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Lam Son Square, Ben Thanh Market, Thien Hau pagoda, The Museum of HCM.
Day 8: Tay Ninh - Cu Chi Tunnels (B)
Enjoy a morning drive through typical southern Vietnamese countryside to Tay Ninh Province in the west of Vietnam. At Tay Ninh visit the incredible Cao Dai Temple then in the afternoon visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. Return to HCMC
Day 10: Mekong Delta - Cai Be Bassac Cruise - Can Tho (B, L, D)
Pick up at your hotel and transfer to Cai Be.
Boarding at Cai Be at noon. Welcome drink, Introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins.
Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river.
Lunch while on route. Rest on the deck.
Turning into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards.
Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby.
Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river.
The Bassac sets anchor just downstream from the little Tra On floating market, for the night.
Day 10: Can Tho - Chau Doc (B)
You may get up for breakfast as early as 06:30, as the ship is resuming its cruise the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho.
Arrival in Cai Rang floating market, check out and transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and return to the Ninh Kieu pier. Continue to Chau Doc.
Day 11: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh (B)
Depart for the four and half hour journey up the river to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In the afternoon, you will visit the Royal Place, Silver Pagoda, Raung Damrei Museum and National Museum of Fine Arts, Independence monument, Central Market.
Day 12: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (B)
Transfer to airport for your flight to Siem Reap VN 9851 PNH 08:20 REP 09:10 and transfer to hotel. In the late afternoon visit the hill top temple of Phnom Pakheng to watch the sunset.
Day 13: Siem Reap (B)
Full day visit to the ancient royal capital of Angkor Thom: Bayon, Thommanon, Chau Say Tevoda, Terrace of Elephants and Leper king and Ta Prohm temple. Lunch. Afternoon Visit to the 7th World Heritage wonder of Angkor Wat, Ta Som, Ta Keo, Pre Rup temples.
Day 14: Depart Siem Reap (B)
Free until we transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
